The Guangdong Museum houses more than 320,000 artifacts and receives over 4 million visitors annually. It is a major institution for cultural relics, a densely populated place, and a key unit for fire prevention safety. The museum is a single building that integrates an underground parking garage, artifact storage, and public visiting areas within the same structure. A fire would not only endanger the personal safety of everyone inside but also pose a huge threat to the artifacts in the store-rooms and exhibition halls.
Since September 22, 2021, Guangdong Museum has implemented zoned parking management for fuel and new energy vehicles. The East Gate open-air parking lot is open to NEVs, with clear signage and staff on-site to direct traffic and ensure orderly parking.
