To celebrate the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), fully leverage the vital role of red resources and revolutionary cultural relics, promote the study of Party history, and tell the story of the Party’s century-long journey, the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, the Party History Research Center of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province jointly present — with support from the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and organization by the Guangdong Museum — “Exhibition on the History of the New Democratic Revolution Led by the Communist Party of China in Guangdong,” held in the No. 3 Exhibition Hall of the Guangdong Museum from June 29 to November 17.
Guangdong is a red land steeped in glorious revolutionary traditions. The arduous yet illustrious course of the New Democratic Revolution led by the CPC in Guangdong is a history of perseverance and brilliance. Veteran revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, and Ye Jianying, along with numerous martyrs including Qu Qiubai, Peng Pai, Yang Yin, Yang Paoan, Su Zhaozheng, and Ye Ting, all fought in Guangdong. Ten provincial Party secretaries — including Chen Yannian, Zhang Tailei, Deng Zhongxia, Cai Hesen, and Zhang Wenbin — sacrificed their lives for revolutionary victory. Guided by the CPC, countless pioneers of Guangdong advanced fearlessly and shed their blood in battle, composing an epic revolutionary saga and forging an everlasting red monument.
Tracing major historical events, the exhibition presents nearly 200 pieces/sets of revolutionary cultural relics and more than 700 precious photographs and archival materials from 23 cultural institutions across the province. Through five thematic sections — “The Founding of the Guangdong Party Organization,” “The Formation of the Center of the Great Revolution,” “The Agrarian Revolutionary War,” “A Pillar of South China in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression,” and “Fighting for the Liberation of Guangdong” — the exhibition offers a panoramic view of the sweeping revolutionary struggles that unfolded across Guangdong during the New Democratic Revolution. It seeks to educate and inspire Party members, officials, and the public to remember revolutionary history, pass on the red gene, and carry forward fine traditions, striving with resolve on the new journey to write new chapters and achieve new glories.
