On June 18, the Guangdong Museum launched the special exhibition William Morris: Invigorating British Arts and Crafts, jointly presented with the China Cultural Relics Exchange Center and the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK). The exhibition is held in the No. 1 Exhibition Hall on the 3rd floor and runs until October 30.
This exhibition showcases more than a hundred masterpieces from the V&A collection, created by major figures of the Arts & Crafts Movement—including William Morris, Charles Francis Annesley Voysey, Charles Robert Ashbee and William De Morgan—as well as works by various arts-and-crafts guilds. The exhibits span pattern designs, textiles, books, jewellery, furniture and household objects, revealing the aesthetic ideals and creative spirit of the movement.
