From September 22, 2017, to March 18, 2018, the exhibition Made in China – a View of Guangzhou on Kromme Rijn was held at the Museum Oud-Amelisweerd in the Netherlands, marking the first successful collaboration between the Guangdong Museum and the Museum Oud-Amelisweerd. The exhibition consisted of two sections: Chinese Export Artworks and Chinese Landscape Paintings. It presented 65 export artworks from the 18th–19th centuries and 15 traditional paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, all from the Guangdong Museum’s collection. These exhibits were ingeniously displayed alongside the museum’s original 18th-century Guangzhou export wallpapers and Armando’s paintings, creating a unique cross-cultural and artistic dialogue between East and West. The exhibition aimed to strengthen the long-standing friendship between Guangdong Province, China and Utrecht Province, Netherlands, and to open new chapters of collaboration and exchange between their museums in the present and future.
